A bloodless thriller for Friday 13th….

Our 7th film of this season, to be screening on Friday 13th March, is ‘The Guilty‘ (2018, 15).  From first time director Gustav Möller, we bring you a nerve-jangling Danish thriller about an emergency police dispatcher responding to a series of emergency calls, and one fateful call in particular…

The Guilty (2)

With its single setting and real-time story, “The Guilty” is a brilliant genre exercise, a cinematic study in tension, sound design, and how to make a thrilling movie with a limited tool box. The film’s own restrictions actually amplify the tension, forcing us into the confined space of its protagonist.

The film was Denmark’s submission to the Foreign Language Film Award of the 91st Oscars, and won the Audience Award in World Cinema at the Sundance Film Festival in 2018

The film was rated 15 by the BBFC and you can find notes on their rating here.

The screening takes place in the auditorium at Wadham School, with doors open from 19:00 and the film due to start at 19:30. It should finish by 21:15.

Visitors can attend for £6 which is payable on the door.

Tea, coffee and cake are all available for a small donation.

Members can also take advantage of our growing DVD and Blu Ray library, which also includes recent editions of various film publications.
