This Sunday (24th) sees our Classic Film Afternoon for 2019.
We’ll be bringing you 2 films starring Bristol’s own, Cary Grant.
Grant would have been 115 years old this year. One of the most iconic screen figures of all time, we look forward to screening two of his best films:
North by Northwest (1959)
Directed by Alfred Hitchcock, with Grant playing a New York City advertising executive who goes on the run after being mistaken for a government agent by a group of foreign spies.
Bringing up Baby (1938)
While trying to secure a $1 million donation for his museum, a befuddled palaeontologist is pursued by a flighty and often irritating heiress (Katharine Hepburn) and her pet leopard, Baby.
Tickets for the afternoon are £8 per person and can be purchased either at the Town Hall in Crewkerne, or on the door at the event.
Refreshments will be available at the event, including tea, coffee and cake.
Doors open at 13:30, with the first film starting at 14:00 and the last scheduled to end around 18:15/20.
